Winter Weather
Snow and ice will move through the Northeast on Saturday.
Heavy snow is possible from the eastern Great Lakes into northern New England.
Portions of New England could see damaging ice accumulations.
Accumulating ice could lead to slippery roads and some power outages elsewhere in the Northeast.
Winter Storm Hunter is now spreading its mess of snow and ice into the Northeast, but its time to impact the U.S. is limited as the low-pressusre system will move into Canada by late Saturday afternoon. Some spots may see a foot of snowfall through Saturday.

Stranded cars on highways have 48-hour warning
Cars that are left unattended on highways across Kansas have 48 hours before they are towed.
Kansas law reads as follow: “When a person leaves a motor vehicle on a public highway or other property open to use by the public, the public agency having jurisdiction of such highway or other property open to use by the public, after 48 hours or when the motor vehicle interferes with public highway operations, may remove and impound the motor vehicle.”
AAA Kansas suggests that drivers check the condition of a car’s engine, tires, and fuel levels before driving on roads.
“There are always crashes and you can hit a patch of ice. Things happen in the winter, so just being prepared for those, I think, is the best thing,” said Shaw Steward, spokesperson.
